Clean Fuels and Lower Greenhouse Gases

Producing clean energy and recovering pollutants is a complicated challenge. ThermoEnergy Corporation is on the cutting edge of this endeavor: Industrial applications of clean energy technology will soon be revolutionized by a patented technology currently being developed by ThermoEnergy Corporation.

The company’s ThermoEnergy Integrated Power System (TIPS) offers an innovative approach to energy generation from hydrocarbons. TIPS combines the combustion of carbonaceous fuels with essentially complete recovery of all by-products including acid gases, mercury, particulates and CO2, at efficiencies comparable to those of conventional large-scale combustion technologies.

To learn more about this exciting new clean energy approach, read this technical paper by Alex Fassbender, Senior Vice President for Engineering and Technology Development at ThermoEnergy Corporation. The paper was presented at the 30th International Technical Conference on Coal Utilization & Fuel Systems in Clearwater, Florida.

ThermoEnergy and Babcock Power Sign MOU to Develop TIPS

ThermoEnergy Corporation and Babcock Power Inc. of Danvers, Massachusetts, announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding leading to the formation of a joint effort to commercialize ThermoEnergy's zero air emission power plant design called ThermoEnergy Integrated Power System ("TIPS").

An industry and market leader in environmental air pollution controls, combustion technology, steam generation and thermal processes for the power generation industry, Babcock Power is ideally positioned to commercialize this revolutionary process.  The simplicity and efficiency of the TIPS approach offers a reliable and cost effective design for carbon-capture, near-zero emission power plants.

Babcock and ThermoEnergy engineers will begin work immediately to finalize the data needed to design, construct and operate a large-scale pilot plant at a host site.  For more information on Babcock Power, Inc please click on the logo below.
